  15. MIME defines a format and general framework for the representation of
  16. a wide variety of data types in Internet mail.  This document defines
  17. one particular type of MIME data, the text/enriched type, a refinement
  18. of the "text/richtext" type defined in RFC 1341.  The text/enriched
  19. MIME type is intended to facilitate the wider interoperation of simple
  20. enriched text across a wide variety of hardware and software
  21. platforms.

  23. This memo provides information for the Internet community.  It does
  24. not specify an Internet standard.  Distribution of this memo is
  25. unlimited.

  27. This announcement is sent to the IETF list and the RFC-DIST list.
  28. Requests to be added to or deleted from the IETF distribution list
